I couldn’t be more excited to be writing this first post for my blog, Clark Gent. It’s been a project I’ve been wanting to do for years, but I’ve only recently gotten the push to actually go through with it.
In putting together this first post, I had to make pay respect to one of my favorite accessories: the baseball cap. Whether you’re the more serious/functional type and like your brim facing forward or carefree/rebellious kind and wear the brim backwards. There is no denying the cool that comes with wearing a baseball cap with a beautifully crafted outfit.
A good cap is hard to come by, but I’ve managed to find mine in an array colors (12 and counting). Hands down, the Polo baseball cap has to be my favorite. They seem to go with almost anything. Some sweats and a t-shirt or a shirt and tie, I always grab one out of the closet before I walk out of the door.
I started off with three colors: powder pink, khaki and white with the latter two going with just about everything I put on. Because of that, baseball caps have always been the final touch of an outfit. I don’t choose my clothes around them because it’s the last thing I put on before I check myself in the mirror one last time. Baseball caps have become such a style essential because of the zeal they bring to an outfit especially when turned backwards. If I want to feel cool, this is THE accessory I reach for.
